ATRIA'S MEAL SOLUTIONS TO BECOME A NEW BUSINESS Unit Atria Group plc's vision is to become the leading company in meat processing and meal solutions in the Baltic area; a position it already holds in Finland. Internationalisation of trade, structural changes and fragmentation in consumers' consumption habits create pressure for change in our current operations. In order to respond to the challenges of a changing competitive environment, Atria's convenience food and meat product operations are to be reorganised in Finland. Atria's meal solutions will become a new business unit that operates directly under the CEO and is lead by a business director. The area will, in addition to Atria's operations, also comprise the operations of Atria's subsidiary Liha ja Säilyke Oy, located in Forssa. The management of Forssa's meat product operations will also become the responsibility of Atria's meat product industry. Both Atria's and Forssa's production units will continue to operate as before. Jarmo Lindholm has been appointed director of Atria's meal solutions operations. He will be in charge of Atria meal solutions' unit strategy, organisation and personnel appointments, and he will also been appointed member of the executive group. Jarmo Aavikko continues as Liha ja Säilyke Oy's Managing Director. In future, in addition to Forssa, he will also have a central role in meal solutions and related development operations (e.g. production and R&D) in Nurmo and Karkkila. Under the new business model, Forssa's sales, marketing and product development operations are integrated with Atria's corresponding operations. The Forssan brand will remain on the market and it will be actively developed in the future. The changes aim to further improve Atria's business renewal ability, profitability and business growth. The changes will become effective from the beginning of 2006. Changes in Atria Oy's commercial operations The responsibility of Atria Oy's Commercial Director Denis Mattson is to manage Atria Oy's and Liha & Säilyke Oy's sales operations in Finland. In addition, the Commercial Director's responsibilities include coordination and development of the retail sales and HORECA sales operation of Atria's international subsidiaries. Denis Mattsson is a member of Atria Oy's executive group and he reports to the CEO. The responsibilities of Atria Oy's Marketing Director Pasi Luostarinen have been expanded to cover, in addition to Atria Oy, the consumer and customer marketing of Atria's subsidiaries and the development of product group work. The aim of these changes is strategic planning for consumer research, consumer marketing measures and product group work as well as control of their practical implementation in Atria Group (Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia). Those responsible at the local level for marketing within each of Atria's subsidiaries report to Pasi Luostarinen in the matrix. Pasi Luostarinen is a member of Atria Oy's executive group and he reports to the CEO. For further information, please contact Seppo Paatelainen, CEO, tel. +358 400 661 742.
