At Atria, ensuring product safety begins right at the start of our food chain. The meat used for Atria’s products comes from our own contract producers, whose production conditions, animal welfare and rearing methods have been recorded.

Atria has prepared instructions on good practices for all types of farms. These instructions include guidelines on maintaining good production hygiene.

For example, all contract farms comply with the disease lock principle, meaning that clothes and footwear must be changed before entering production premises. This prevents any animal diseases from spreading between farms. Atria has zero tolerance for salmonella, for example.

Our primary production procurement organisation, A-Farmers Ltd, employs experts who offer services to farms related to planning production facilities, animal feeding and treatment, and medication.
