Aage Jensen, a butcher, establishes 3-Stjernet in Denmark. Jensen tries making salami in his own small facility and then travels around in freight trains selling his sausages.Itikka's production also created by-products, which were appreciated by every baker: grease of three different types as well as marmalade of Finnish berries and apples.
Topping off ceremonies are an annual event in Itikanmäki. As sales of sausages increased, new production plants were constantly being put up.Itikka's poultry slaughterhouse began operating with a production line in 1953.
Lihakunta expands in Kuopio. A new slaughterhouse is completed in Likolahti, Kuopio in 1952, giving rise to the concept of a "slaughterhouse industry".In 1956, sufficient space was allocated to expand the range of processed and convenience foods. Despite this, most of the production remains manual.
