Atria’s new poultry plant will be ready in 2024. This 155 M € investment is the biggest in Atria’s history. It will renew the whole process from slaughter to packing and enables product development in totally new categories. New production technology is also more environment-friendly.

Finnish chicken production is unique in terms of production and biosecurity standards. Thanks to pleasant living conditions, proper feeding and general care, we never need to treat the birds with antibiotics. Atria also has zero tolerance for all salmonella serotypes.

Pigs with tails – a Nordic specialty
Pleasant living conditions are one of the cornerstones of pig welfare. The Finnish animal welfare legislation is strict and practices at the Atria Family Farms have even higher standards.
Feeding at Atria Family Farms is based on home-grown grain, liquid barley protein and a supplement from our own feed mill. Fresh water is always available.
Decent living conditions minimize the need for medication and reduce stress. Stressed pigs bite each others’ tails, and to prevent this harmful behaviour, pigs’ tails are docked in many countries. In Finland we do not have to do that. And we are very proud of this Nordic specialty – pigs with tails.
Together with the farmers, we have built a system to track the use of antibiotics in the pork chain. Thanks to the cooperation and trustworthy system, we can offer antibiotic-free grown pork.
