Meat you want to eat – and serve your family too!

The secret to the award-winning flavour is in the fresh and clean Finnish soil, air and water that are used to grow the feed for the well-treated animals. Finnish Atria meat is produced from animals raised responsibly and fed mostly with locally grown feed.

Atria can offer you a wide selection of beef, pork, chicken, and turkey products. Our meat is always of 100% Finnish origin and can easily be traced right down to the original farm. All our chicken is raised antibiotic-free and antibiotic-free pork is also available. These pure meats and meat products are the kind any food connoisseurs would love to eat and serve their friends and family.

Ethical, traceable, and sustainable production at Finnish family farms

How do we guarantee that the meat we deliver to you is the purest on the planet? There are several elements in this equation: animal welfare, traceability, and sustainability. These are things that most of your customers will also value.

The living conditions of the animals are optimised to keep them healthy and stress-free, and the animals get to act according to their natural behaviour. They have access to high-quality, home-grown grain and supplementary feed and fresh water, and they have space to lie down and rest comfortably.

Atria takes pride in the provenance of our meat. And traceability also means safety. We know who has cared for the animals, how they have been fed, and if medication has been used at the farm. Medication is only used to treat sick animals, never for preventive or growth-promoting purposes.

Atria’s sustainability activities extend throughout the entire food chain, from field to fork. The most important sustainability goal is to have a carbon-neutral food chain by 2035. We have already made significant investments in the production and use of renewable, emission-free energy, such as solar panels and wind energy. We are also committed to international initiatives such as the Science Based Targets (SBTi) climate initiative and the United Nations Global Compact initiative.

Atria’s new poultry plant will be ready in 2024. This 155 M € investment is the biggest in Atria’s history. It will renew the whole process from slaughter to packing and enables product development in totally new categories. New production technology is also more environment-friendly.

Finnish chicken production is unique in terms of production and biosecurity standards. Thanks to pleasant living conditions, proper feeding and general care, we never need to treat the birds with antibiotics. Atria also has zero tolerance for all salmonella serotypes.

Pigs with tails – a Nordic specialty

Pleasant living conditions are one of the cornerstones of pig welfare. The Finnish animal welfare legislation is strict and practices at the Atria Family Farms have even higher standards.

Feeding at Atria Family Farms is based on home-grown grain, liquid barley protein and a supplement from our own feed mill. Fresh water is always available.

Decent living conditions minimize the need for medication and reduce stress. Stressed pigs bite each others’ tails, and to prevent this harmful behaviour, pigs’ tails are docked in many countries. In Finland we do not have to do that. And we are very proud of this Nordic specialty – pigs with tails.

Together with the farmers, we have built a system to track the use of antibiotics in the pork chain. Thanks to the cooperation and trustworthy system, we can offer antibiotic-free grown pork.
